Another Tag...although this is for you babe!

What is his name? Ryan Joseph Mortensen
How long have you been married? 4 years this year
How long did you date? Officially 8 months
How old is he? The big 30
How old are you? The big 28
Who eats more sweets? That would be me by a mile
Who said I love you first? Ryan did
Who is taller? Ryan
Who is a better singer? Toss up--I think we are about the same in choir experiences but I really don't hear him sing as much as I do. Does that make me better?
Who is smarter? If you officially go by the schooling, I guess he is a doctor...but hey, I did get a masters. Outside of the schooling he would say himself, and I would say myself :)
Who does the laundry? Is that even a question? I want to know what guy actually does it. Plus he is never here to do it in the first place.
Who does the dishes? I do the brunt of them--although he does take turns cleaning up.
Who pays the bills? He does the online ones--I do anything with the checkbook (which is next to nothing anymore).
His guilty pleasure? anything sports related
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do
Who mows the lawn? It's usually Ryan, unless I get around to doing it during kids' nap times.
Besides you, who is his best friend? Probably Spencer Hall--since he is the one we see most often but then again--we can't forget the Mundy's!!
Who cooks dinner? Again, I want to know what guy does. Ryan does a lot of the grilling but I only remember him actually cooking one time when we first married--chicken spaghetti. For thee few days that he is actually home to make lunch--we have HOT DOGS!!!! (I swear I've never had more hot dogs total in my life than I have had since we have been married.)
Who drives? He does, but like Emily said--with some occasional help :)
Who is more stubborn? I know he would say me--but he's got a stubborn side to him as well.
Who kissed who first? Ryan on the doorstep--said he had to tell me a secret, but he showed me instead.
Who asked who out first? Ryan--back in the college days
What was your first date? Ryan introduced me to Cafe Rio--then we had a bonfire in the canyon with his buddies and dates.
Who proposed? Ryan
Who has more siblings? He does--3 sisters and 1 brother
Who wears the pants? Emily's right--it depends on the situation. Maybe me--but he will put his foot down when it really matters to him.
What is your favorite thing about him? Hard to narrow it down but what first pops into my mind is the fact that he soooooo family oriented--and he always has been. He really is a great father and a really great husband. I absolutely love the time I get to spend with him, both alone and as a family. I love you sweetheart!!

I've been tagged!

Ok so thanks to Emily I have been tagged! After thinking long and hard about this one, the 5 most random facts about me.

1. I don't know why but I actually enjoy typing. In high school I had a data entry job that helped me improve my typing skills, and for whatever reason I got so much satisfaction at seeing myself enter in an entire data entry batch faster than the time before--maybe it was just that I got paid more for doing more. Anyways--my freshman year college roomate came into our dorm room one night to see me practicing my ten key by typing numbers from a phone book sitting in my lap. She thought I was the weirdest person ever.

2.A couple of annoying habits of mine that anyone who has lived with me can attest to knows that I occasionally make the ugliest noise in the entire world to scratch my itchy throat. I don't even know how to describe it and can't remember when I started it--but it really is ugly. Another annoying habit of mine is the constant nail/cuticle biting. I've even tried to stop before, but I guess for me it is almost like an addiction.

3. I love to travel--I think that came from the volleyball days. Who knew that I would have been able to see so many places all thanks to a little white ball. Now I suppose you could say I live that dream vicariously through my sister--since she is still our world traveler. Travelling is honestly what I want to do more than anything with my husband when he retires--hopefully we'll be able to take a few trips before retirement though :) I do have to say that I do have the best two reasons in the world for staying put (three if you include my husband) and here they are (as pictured above).

4. I go through various phases to try and become more domestic. I've had the cross stitching phase, the looming hats phase, a cooking phase--thanks to the neighborhood cookbook, and some other things. My latest interest has been food storage. After having numerous conversations with several different friends I've decided that it is time for me to start. After hearing so much about the shortage of wheat--I now have some--with wheat grinder and everything. I got really motivated to get some for my family after taking a bread making class that taught me how I would actually use it to make bread in 1 hour. Today was my first go at making the bread and it was all delicious--I made homemade pizza, breadsticks, cinnamon twists, and a loaf of bread. Thank you Mindy Spencer!!

5.I suppose the last thing I'll share about myself are some of my favorite things in the whole world. Raspberry lemonade from the Pizza Factory, pina colada flavor anything, the bahama mama sno cone flavor at the sno shack by Scera pool in Orem, Blue Bell ice cream--although most any ice cream will do, the piano, volleyball, my kids' smiles, BYU, and vacations!!!

Now after my long novel I suppose it's my turn to tag people: Brooke, Mindy, Jaci, Natalie, and Stephanie

It's a Beautiful Day!!

So about a week ago my husband told me that I could get my mother's day present of Lasik eye surgery early. I didn't even know that he was seriously considering that for me at this point. So Monday morning I had my pre-op exam with him plus the pentacam scan and vuola--Wednesday morning I had surgery and it was over and done with. It all happened so fast that I barely had time to soak it all in. But I guess it was a good thing that I didn't have too much time to syke myself out. I am completely amazed at this technology and just ever so grateful for the perfect vision that I now have. I don't think I've ever been able to say perfect vision. Goodbye glasses, goodbye contacts. Life is wonderfully clear!!!!
